Course structure and overview

In this introductory video, we welcome you to our course on Cross‑Cultural Marriage — a practical, honest, and faith‑rooted journey designed to help you build a marriage that doesn’t just survive cultural differences, but thrives through them.

We share who this course is for: couples already in cross‑cultural marriages, those considering marrying someone from another culture, and even people who want to better understand or support cross‑cultural couples. We also share a bit of our own story as a British–Sri Lankan family, navigating life, faith, and culture together.

We then walk you through what’s coming up in the course, including:

  • God’s design for marriage and why understanding purpose shapes everything.

  • The power of vulnerability and how to create a safe space to express and honour both cultural identities.

  • Owning your story by recognising cultural wounds and choosing a healthier way forward.

  • Speaking your needs so both partners feel valued, heard, and loved.

  • Aiming for joy, moving from simply getting by to truly flourishing as a couple.

Our hope is that, wherever you are in your journey — doing great or working through challenges — this course gives you tools to deepen connection, communication, and joy in your marriage.

So grab a notebook and a cup of tea or coffee, relax, and join us as we explore how to grow a strong, joyful, cross‑cultural marriage together.
